Meditation: A Quick and Simple Way to relax and terminate Anxiety

Meditation is an act of relaxing mind and body. Relaxation not only means sitting on couch and lazing all day long. True relaxation is allowing body to release tension and emptying mind of stress and worries. There are number of ways to get relaxed like exercising, walking, and indulging in hobbies. But nothing produces result like a good session of meditation.

The term relaxation sounds too good to avoid but many people are subconsciously apprehensive about attaining complete state of relaxation. In such state, inner fear and disturbed body sensations come to surface which sometimes can be quite alarming and disturbing to the person. But once these initial setbacks are surpassed, a new creative approach towards stress and anxiety can be developed.

The simplest meditation for beginners involves sitting comfortably with a straight back, breathing slowly and rhythmically, and being aware of every inhalation and exhalation. This simple process is highly effective for bringing natural anxiety relief.

Abnormal and haphazard breathing are usually caused by anxious thinking. Being aware of breathing process has direct effect on our stress level. In meditation abnormal breathing is replaced by slow and deep breathing, expansion of chest activity and stretching of tensed and achy muscles.

Apart from producing therapeutic effects, meditation for beginners also helps developing immunity to stress and tension. It is observed that those practicing regular meditation are more peaceful and have more resistance to day to day life worries and anxiety. It also increases person’s spiritual quotient that helps to live life fully in the present moment with total joy and bliss.
